Hospitality Special Events
Throughout the year our Hospitality Committee organizes community-building events held at the Meeting House. We welcome guests to join us. For information about any of them, contact us.
Friendly Friday One Friday a month we gather at 5:30 PM for pot luck and games, a movie, singing, or other group activity. Intergenerational.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Carol Sing Group singing from 6:30 – 7:30, reading of Luke (look up), followed by half hour of silent worship. Refreshments afterwards. Childcare provided during worship.
Easter Eve Overnight Potluck at 6:00 PM. Evening activities have varied from probing theological discussion to decorating Easter eggs, depending on the group. Early Ester morning worship: from the meeting room, in the coziness of blankets and sleeping bags, we watch the sun rise over the mountains to our east, knowing that at the same time Friends from our sister meeting in Gibara, Cuba are gathering by the sea to greet the day. Pancake breakfast afterwards.
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? Potluck. People sign up with Hospitality Committee to host or be guests. The committee assigns everyone to hosts and tells them whether to bring salad, soup, main course, or dessert. No one, including the host, knows who their fellow dinner guests will be until they arrive.
